Is there one that came out before Neon Genesis Evangelion?Cause i know at the beginning of first episode they talk about the angels have returned.I was just wondering whether there was one to tell about when angels first came around.

More specifically, the TV series and the End of Evangelion only hint upon the events that occured during the 1st impact

Not particularly sure what you are getting at, but theres just the TV series, Death and Rebirth, End of Evangelion, and the Manga

You know at the beginning of first episode they are like the angels are back, and it had been 15 years since they had been back,so i was just wondering what happened 15 years before and what stopped them for 15 years. That is what i was wondering.

Oh, 15 years ago was the 1st impact. Watch End of Evangelion for more information.

To answer the question of the title, Evangelion is "first" Evangelion. To be clearer, there is no series/movie/OVA prior to Evangelion that describes in detail the events that occur before Evangelion starts. There are places throughout the series and movies where the past is explained, but there is no Eva series/movie/OVA where the pre-Eva events are in the present (from the storyteller's point of view).

Somewhere in the series, there's a flashback or 2 to 2nd Impact. At the beginning of Death and Rebirth, there's what is mostly a still sequence (of a security cam, or something) during the actual 2nd Impact. You get to hear random dialogue as the event unfolds, I believe.

The Director's Cut or Platinum Edition gives you more information about the Second Impact in the later episodes.

Wow, are you in for a treat. The second half is just insane. Watch out for an episode with Masato's past. That should answer some of your questions.

There is an alternate universe where second impact never happened. This is in the manga Evangelion Girlfriend of steel 2 (or something like that...)
It's set in the universe shown in episode 26 (although I'm not sure if you've seen it yet...) but its not an actual part of the TV series.
