Now I just need word on a Blu-Ray release, and I'll be an even happier camper.

They've been kinda slow with just how they'll actually go about releasing it... it was announced at AX that Blue Exorcist would get a sub, dvd-only release right away, and now we have a subbed, dvd-only set of Oreimo announced, with the extras already announced. Seeing the announcement of a dub weeks after it's AX unveiling, I wait in anticipation for the home video release specifications...

Forget dubbing, we need a proper blu-ray release.

Pretty sweet. I;d of course have prefered that they dubbed Blue Exorcist as well, but at least this means that I can get more bang for the buck when Madoka's release comes out.

Of course Blu ray will completely seal the deal for me.

Wow, I think that this is a first for Aniplex. But they chose the right title for it, as this one has greater potential than anything else they've released so far to be a big hit.

I wonder if they're dubbing it so that it can air on Adult Swim like they did with Durarara. Either way, great news.

A first in what sense, exactly? I know a dub is more of a highly pleasant surprise than anything else, but I mean, they have dubbed Durarara! themselves, haven't they?

Or are you thinking that it's a first in the sense that it is the first series of Aniplex to get a dub after having been licensed for the American market so quickly? Smile

Agreed. However I still feel it's largely a waste because I think the majority of the people that buy it already saw it, and would prefer the Japanese voices. Chiwa Saito was just GODLY as Homura and the best english va's possible wouldnt be able to compare, it's like the character was made to fit HER. Aoi Yuki was great too....well the entire cast was, I just don't see anything comparing. What scares me the most is how terrible dubs have been overall in the last half decade. The last GOOD dub I remember was probably GITS:SSS..everything else ranging from terrible [clannad] to decent [gundam 00]

That would be a shocker considering we haven't had a magical girl series on TV for a long time.
