Thanks to Anime News Network, I went through all the titles of anime on the encyclopedia and gathered a list of titles that I haven’t seen yet (this really is the best site for anime with out a doubt). So if you could recommend one or two animes' I should start to buy next that would be great. Thanks in advance!

He/she said he/she went through the encyclopedia, so I believe the list that he/she has compiled already reflects what he/she is interested in.
You have quite a few titles on your list that I'd also like to see. Of your list, I've seen RahXephon and I strongly recommend it. It is one of my favorites. An excellent, slightly unknown and often overlooked anime series with great characters, animation, music and story. I doubt you'd regret buying this series. Here is my list of what you should see, based on the animes I have.
(Note that I don't know your personal preferences, so I am making suggesstions that I like but that you might not necessarily like.) - Cardcaptor Sakura (TV) The Japanese uncut version of this story (based on the CLAMP mangas) feature a lot of great comedic material. Sakura and her friends are wonderful characters, there are a lot of mysteries and surprises invovled -- well, much like Magic Knight Rayearth, but with some really taboo relationships that set this one apart from pretty much the rest (in a very good way). CAUTION: DO NOT GET ANY DVDs THAT ARE LABELLED "CARDCAPTORS". Cardcaptors is the American Dub version that has been almost completely rewritten to make the male character (Li Sayroan) the main character and taken out pretty much everything that makes Cardcaptor Sakura a great show. - Excel Saga (TV) If you know your anime, then you will be laughing out loud with this wonderful series. It's a "Quack Experimental Anime", that takes everything anime and manga (from Pokemon to Dating Sim Games to Fist of the North Star) and makes fun of it. (Even if you don't catch everything, ADV has put in pop-up Notes that tell you where the references come from.) (also, if you like Excel Saga, you probably will like Puni Puni Poemi (OAV), which is the 10x more hyper sequel / spinoff.) - Fushigi Yuugi (TV & OVA) Another fantasy tale, involving a realistic setting and great characters. A timeless classic of love and loss that continues to get better as you move from the TV show to the OVAs. (also, after seeing the TV show and Oni set, you might also want to see Fushigi Yuugi: Eikoden (OAV), which is the sequel to the original OVA set and the finale to the story [for now, anyway].) - Inu Yasha (TV) This series gets my biggest nod. Even now, after 70+ episodes have been translated with more on the way (out of 270 or so total), this TV series is perhaps the longest-running one out there -- and never gets old. The characters are very dynamic, and no matter where you start, after a few episodes, you'll definitely get to know the characters and really start to care about them. Few animes rarely have that magic touch, and this is one of them. A must-buy. - Magic Knight Rayearth (TV) - Magic Knight Rayearth 2 (TV) I am a CLAMP fan, and have read the MKR manga. I found this to be a great series, with some really good surprises thrown in and a nice story about three girls who band together and, through their friendship and strong wills, become the Magic Knights and work to defend the mystical realm of Cephiro from monsters and enemies abound. (Also, if you like the MKR TV show, consider getting Rayearth (OVA), which is a retelling of the MKR story in a bold new way, where the three girls are now older and the battle takes place on Earth instead of Cephiro.) Now and Then, Here and There (TV) A future-tale series that has a great story and is different from most anime out there. But, that's all I really can say about it without spoiling it. Otaku no Video (OAV) If you ever wanted to know what a real otaku is like, then this video feature is for you. Through two great animes set in the 1980s that are semi-biographical of the start of GAINAX (along with live-action "mockumentary" interviews), you get an idea of both the Japanese subculture and learn a bit about the history of otakuism and GAINAX itself. |

It is my personal opinion that Inu-Yasha is vastly overrated. It may be true that it was an interesting series at first, but it has become too drawn-out and repetitive, which is usually the fate of a series that goes on too long. I'd recommend maybe watching it, but I wouldn't recommend actually purchasing it. I do not believe that it is worth the money.

I highly recommmend you Full Metal Panic!
It is a nice anime... Try it... Elfen Lied is not bad too... But it is too violent... |

Got a little story. I went to Blockbuster near my apartment (for the first time) this afternoon, curious about how many anime titles they have. ...DBZ ...Yu-Gi-Oh Yeah, yeah. ...Laputa ...Akira That's good, but not unexpected. ...eX Driver ...Vampire Hunter D Now that's getting interesting. I don't expect to see them here. And then... ...Now and Then, Here and There.  Something I really don't expect at Blockbuster. Rent it or buy it (I had the 4-disc boxset for only $42 at DDD); you won't regret it.

These are titles I watched and loved to death (watched almost the whole list) but these are a must see for starters:
The Wings of Honneamise (movie) - This is my all time favorite movie. Its drama, sci-fi with a nice blend of comedy. Super Dimensional Fortress Macross (TV)- Totally depending how much time you have I can only recall wonderful memories when I watched this sci-fi epic. It would be inexpensive to obtain this series since its kind of old. But don't let age ever intimidate you when it comes to anime. Anime is timeless. Strawberry Eggs (TV)- Wonderful and sweet series with very dramatic conclusion. This is echi (perverted humor) anime filled with fun and unforgettable moments. Maison Ikkoku- This is my second favorite anime series of all time. That is entirely due to the superb storyline. All 96 series are fun and exciting. You will never, ever get bored with a single episode. Also the incredible level of detail in both graphics and story will shock and amaze you. This anime is a lesson in life. Great Teacher Onizuka (TV) - One word. BANZAI!!! This anime is my all time favorite series. That is only because I never watched an anime this funny melted with amazing drama. It’s about a 22-year-old ex-gang member who grew old from his past and is trying to start over. He decides to be a teacher and make the school fun; something he never had when he was in school. If you like this series you will also love "Golden Boy". Don't ask why just get this series as soon as your legs can carry you to the store. There is number of titles in your list that I also highly recommend, which are Fruits Basket and epic Berserk. Also watch Kenshin OVA if you never watched it before. If you like Comedy, definately get these:
Excel Saga/Puni Puni Poemi (Parody on a bizzare scale) Golden Boy (Be warned thought, several of the episodes goes into the sexual fantasies of the main character.) Gunsmith Cats (If you want Action and Comedy mixed into a compact 3-episode DVD) Lupin the 3rd/Castle of Cagliostro . (Old School Comedy by the Sensei himself, Monkey Punch.) |

Be careful on what yous say, even though you say 96 series, I know you mean episodes. Yes, this is a good series, however, the OVA and movie(s) aren't licensed. |

Hmm. Quite a long list want-to-see anime, but then so is my own.
I've gone through your list and selected a few anime (in different categories) that I would choose. I have ordered them within each category, depending on my favourites. 1) Creepy, spooky, cryptic or just weird. Boogiepop Phantom (TV) Serial Experiments Lain (TV) 2) Melancholy SaiKano (TV) Now and Then, Here and There (TV) Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (TV) Koikaze (TV) Twelve Kingdoms (TV) 3) Science fiction Planetes (TV) Crest of the Stars (TV) The Wings of Honneamise (movie) Last Exile (TV) 4) Action and violence Elfen Lied (TV) Last Exile (TV) Now and Then, Here and There (TV) 5) Funny Excel Saga (TV) Kyou Kara Maou! (TV) Hand Maid May (TV) 6) Romantic SaiKano (TV) Koikaze (TV) Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (TV) Hand Maid May (TV) 7) Fantasy Twelve Kingdoms (TV) I'm not going to give capsule descriptions of all of these - that's what the encyclopedia is for - but I will say that, of them all, if I could only pick one, it would be SaiKano. A note on Hand Maid May: at first glance, this seems like an instantly forgettable piece of fluff. Don't be deceived. Sure, it's fanservicy and cliché-ridden. But the story is well-told, and you can't fault its humour and charm. Oh, and you missed a spot, I think: if you haven't already seen Paranoia Agent, do add that to your list. - abunai |

Iria-Zeriam the animation is a good one. dub isnt as great as it could be but i loved it. I just bought the whole collection from amazon. Its only 6 episodes long so its a quickie.
