I expected that to be alot better than it actually was.
My main problem with fan made films of any kind bar a very fair few is that they always concentrate on style over substance. They spend ages trying to get the look and feel of the piece right without making it engaging as an actual performance piece. I've seen countless Silent Hill fan films which just involve some no mark wandering around in the dark for 20 minutes without anything actually happening and I once saw a very good Metal Gear Solid film which looked fantastic but had Snake wandering around doing nothing but imitate the game characters trademark movements without actually shooting anything. I feel the same with this Doctor thingy, it's laaaaaaaaaaaaaame. |

A somewhat harsh appraisal, Gently... it's not supposed to be a performance piece, if Johnson had wanted to do a feature-length presentation, it would take him years to finish, because he does every frame by hand.
No, this short was only ever intended to be about getting the look and feel right, as opposed to creating a complete narrative, and it achieves this goal admirably. If you were disappointed, perhaps you set your expectations too high?

I was impressed, especially by the Daleks
 I'd of liked it to be longer but at least this put the idea out there.
