in all of "Chibi Maruko-chan" pages here at ANN the vintage says that this anime, any parts/seasons of it, is from early 1990s...

does this mean that a re-run became so popular currently on japanese tv?..

Yeah, except that it's still in the top 5 which matters even more.

Setting aside the fact that the accuracy of these scores you give is always questionable... that's not good. noitaminA hasn't rebounded, apparently. I guess even doing a show with a cute, tragic, perpetually-childlike female lead wasn't enough to drag back viewership now that the timeslot has fallen into decline. C's a great show, though. I'll be very sad should noitaminA disappear.

Not sure how C will do, but AnoHana is looking to make monster sales (relative to Noitamina). As of right now, the vol. 1 BD is ranked higher than any other show this season. So it should sell a good number of copies.

I am not, I love my tacos and my burritos :9 But modern animal hunting (and any show that attempts to make people believe it is cool) is IMO evil. We already have farms that produce meat, there is no need to go out and kill the animals still living in the wild.

Not that I'm belittling your logic, but why is almost everyone perfectly fine with people dying in anime but not this? Toriko doesn't kill animals in vain, he only kills what he eats, and that's technically the same as we do, except in this world he needs to hunt for food. You'd think animals live a happier life dying and living naturally in the food chain, rather than be born, kept in a limited space, and lazily fed until its owner decides it's time to make some cash. If I were an animal I'd rather die for someone who'd appreciate and be thankful for my life like Toriko than some fat kid at McDonalds.

Simple, after seeing an anime, live-action or videogame where humans are killed you do not say "Hey, lets go and kill some real people" unless you are crazy or a criminal. But if after seeing the Outdoors channel your little kid says "I want to go hunting" it is not olny legal, many daddy's are more than happy to teach their offspring all what is to be known about killing bambi.

No, he is a "gourmet hunter", he does not kill to stay alive, he kills to taste the rare meat, no doubt he would kill a dodo on sight if said extinct birds were to cross his path.

Humbug, you do not need know how to hunt to eat cow meat, no matter how low tech said world is supposed to be.

I agree, I will be more than happy when stem cell research allows for cloning animal meat, it will be cheaper, cleaner and guilt free since it would have never been part of a breathing, thinking mammal (or fish).

Glad to know, can you then write in your last will to ask your next of kin to dispatch your carcass to feed some thankful piranhas? No, I am not belittling you, death is final farewell and if you think about it, it makes little difference if your meat is to rot or is going to be eaten by the needy, you ain't going to be there anymore.
