That's a really vague idea of stuff there. Generally, almost anything, besides the 18+ stuff. =P
Do you mean yourself? Or a friend? Two random recomendations off the top of my head is Comic Party, and Last Exile. There are a lot more, but I don't exactly know what you're looking for. =P |

Azumanga Daioh. It has humor that appeals to viewers of all ages. And since it's about a group of high school girls, I think you should be able to relate to that. I actually found myself laughing out loud at times. Makes me look like a dork when I've got my headphones while watching it late at night on and I seem to be laughing to myself, because that's all you can hear, me laughing to myself.
Full Metal Panic! and its sequel Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu. The first has a little romance, is very funny (especially in the beginning) and has lots of action. The latter is just plain hilarious but is very episodic. Yup, the main characters are high school kids. Gokusen. Another school anime, this one resembling GTO a little, but with Yakuza links. Funny, wacky and Yankumi is just quirkily cool. Tanjou Tenge. I've only watched the first episode but I think I'm gonna like it very much. setting: a school where everybody seems to like fighting and is a member of some fight club. I don't know if you should watch Ai Yori Aoshi though. It's a great series with a great romance story, but I don't want you going all "So that's how romance should be". No, it's too perfect. Real life never is like that (as far as I know), but it's a good story to watch for older people like myself who want to think about how it should/could have been when we were younger. |

Tanjou Tenge? Are you refering to Tenjou Tenge? To TenTen?
If so, no. Tenjou Tenge is not an anime for 13 year old teens...It has enough as being considered an Ecchi, that, or as also a lot of people do, rate it +18. There're some titles that may like. Magical girls have a lot of series made to 13 yeard old people...Card Captor Sakura, Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne, Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew Looking for some boys-related stuff. Love Hina (it's not really hard to understand, I would recommend it more than Ai Yori Aoshi , for younger fans...). If you (or for what you're asking) like sports...Slam Dunk, Captain Tsubasa... And yes, Azumanga Daioh. I'm obssesed with it... |

Sorry, stupid typo error. Yup, I was referring to Tenjou Tenge. I've just watched up till the 2nd episode and have seen the panty shots of Aya. Older sister Maya's b00bs almost overflow from her robes (when she's in her normal-sized form). And Souichi spewing lots of blood too. You're right, not so suitable for a 13 yr old. Card Captor Sakura is a good choice. Very nice anime. The quality of the animation is consistently good and the music is awesome! I loved this one. |

I'm assuming you're a parent. Well, I think a 13 year old could probably watch any anime (well, you may not want him watching hentai though). I was watching Halloween, JC's The Thing, and Aliens all the time at that age. I think thats the point where your mental maturity level is at a point where you can easily discern reality from fiction. I'd just let him/her get whatever he wanted from the anime shelf as long as it doesn't have one of those 18+ stickers on it. Of course if you want to play it safe, Metropolis is an excelent film that can apeal to any age with positive themes and relatively little language and violence.

watch anything that you know you won't find disturbing. I'm actually 13 (now people are gonna start thinking i'm much easier to take advantage of since i said that ) and i'll watch anything but hentai and crap. I don't worry about age ratings, i mean, it's not like i never heard the F bomb, seen nudity in a movie, science class, or in the bathroom, or seen fake blood all over the place.
EDIT: wow, way to kick off my 100th. post. Revealing my age... Last edited by Poppycock on Fri Sep 17, 2004 9:24 pm; edited 1 time in total |

What do you mean by 'take advantage of"? Stuff my opinions down your throat and say you must love a certain anime because I love it? Nah, we don't do that.
Really, we're all civilized people. Anyway, I think it all depends on the individual's level of maturity. I've been watching "mature" anime for ages, seen blood and broken bodies and all that. Just don't take it too seriously and you'll be alright. |

Lets see theres, Dragonball/z/gt, One Piece, Naruto, Shaman King, Yu-Gi-Oh, Orphen:Scion of Society, G Gundam, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Rave Master, Azumanga Daioh, Comic Party, Bastof Syndrome (Korean, but cool) Eden's Bowy, and Angelic Layer.
There mixed genre's since you didn't specify but they should all apply to that age group. Well if your okay with light foul language for some of them. |

Pretty much anything. But a 13 year old won't UNDERSTAND or APPRECIATE a lot of anime. A 13 year old who watches Perfect Blue, for example, won't really get it, and might be disturbed by it. Even stuff like Trigun and Cowboy Bebop is usually recommended for older people, not necessarily because of violence, foul language, or sexual content, but because of the complexity of the themes.
Some series that are perfectly fine are Gundam (with all its different versions), the typical shonen anime, Witch Hunter Robin, Wolf's Rain, Rurouni Kenshin, InuYasha, Infinite Ryvius, Case Closed, Azumangah Daioh, to some extent Full Metal Panic, etc... |

This is another reason why i don't talk about my age on the internet a lot. Age 13 makes some people that are older think "immature". |

Whether you believe it or not, an average 13 year old is not as mature as an average 16, 18, or 25 year old. When I was 13, I, too, was trying to convince others that "age was nothing but a number" - but now I know it's not. Especially since between the ages of 13 and 21, let's say, there's a very important portion of life called adolescence.

Pretty much any anime should be fine for a 13-year old. At this point, its best to check animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1628 for whats good in the genre of your choice.
