Ok so when watching anime, of course there's usually pairings of couples. However, sometimes we want to see pairings we enjoy, but in the end, it doesn't happen. I'm pretty sure you guys wanted a pairing that in the end didn't happen. So, what are they? Give reasons for your pairings and release your sadness.
YasurixKiguchi from Katanagatari. I have no idea why I chose this, but I pretty much knew what was going to happen to Togame, so yeah. HarimaxYakumo from School Rumble. I hate Pie so much that it's not even funny. I'm still waiting KJ! AmixRyuuji from ToraDora. Ryuuji, you chose the wrong girl. FukudaxAoki from Bakuman. I wanted to see this for a while now. I don't care for Hiramura as much. TsudaXMitsuba from Seitokai Yakuindomo. Judo girl is way to damn cute and if you know what's good for you Tsuda, you'll pick the right one. HitoyoshixKikaijima from Medaka Box. I don't give a shit how perfect and beautiful Medaka is. I just want to see some swimmer girl action dammit. RyuxChun Li from Street Fighter series. Yeah, it might not be categorized as anime, but I really like these two characters, and hey, they're both single. Especially Ryu, that guy needs to take a damn break. JunpeixKaede from NyanKoi! I actually think this won't work out in the end, but I really want it to. It's probably one of the few times I rooted for the girl that the MC wanted. So let me here 'em guys. __________________ |

I wanted Kaede to be with the main character in Shuffle!
I wanted to see Jin go out with Tsugumi in Kannagi. All we saw were a few envisioned fantasies from Tsuhumi. I want Saito to have Siesta in Zero no Tsukaima. Louise doesn't deserve him! |

I definitely agree on ToraDora. She was the only one that actually showed her true self. Instead of playing dumb like Minori. Or constantly assaulting him like Taiga.

Am I the only person that wanted to see Misty kiss Ash at least once in Pokemon? They showed Misty being mushy over Ash a lot of times, but he was never in the scene, and when he was, she was a total old school tsundere. I mean, the second movie where she resents Melody after she kissed Ash was so awesome! Alas, it's a mere kids show, and kids find kissing yucky, but still, it would've been nice.
I'm more of a Harima x Eri person myself, maybe because I like Eri more. I don't hate Yakumo, but she's so...bland. Eri has spunk and personality and holds a larger soft spot for Harima (remember when she paid that big check for him?). Plus, she's seen and TOUCHED him while he's naked, so clearly she can never marry anyone else because she's no longer a pure bride.
Kaede was a crazy bitch! She would've strangled Rin in his sleep if she forgot to put salt on his eggs, because he might not be happy. And Asa was more awesome anyways, so take that. |

Same here! Ever since that first scene of them together when Harima shares his umbrella with her and walks her home I was like "daaawwwwww!" Another one from School Rumble that I was hoping for was Karen X Imadori. I absolutely loved every second of that time when Imadori visits her house! 
And although it would have greatly lessened the weight of the series' ending, I couldn't help but wish that Katsushiro and Kirara would hook-up in Samurai 7. Oh the pains of the tragic old warriors being left behind by the advancing world... |

Clannad franchise: Tomoya and just about anyone other than Nagisa. She's nice but limp. Has anyone else noticed that the moment she is removed from the story it suddenly gets astromically better? And how it falls in a hole when she comes back? In particular I would have preferred him to hook up with either Kyou or Tomoyo. In the Tomoya/Tomoyo alternative storyline OAV the two are so natural together.
To Love-Ru: Lala and Rito. Haruna is, like Nagisa, dull dull dull. Why does the hero never fall for the bad girl? (Elfen Lied excepted, yay!) High School of the Dead: Saeko and Takashi. Same again. Why is the interesting woman a no-chancer? Blue Submarine #6: Mutio the fish woman and Hayami. I was quite enchanted by the possibility of an inter-species relationship. Such a lack of courage from the director, Maeda. |

Revy and Rock from Black Lagoon. So much UST, and the best we get is spoiler[revy buttfucking Rocks cigarette.]
Kamina and Yoko from Gurren Lagann. Sure they kissed, but it would have been nice if they'd spoiler[had more time before Kamina bit the dust]. Kyon and Yuki/Kyon and Suzumiya from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. After that spoiler[big climactic kiss (depending on your viewing order),] we are left with an entire season of UST, culminating to that part in the movie where he spoiler[brushes her hair out of her face while she sleeps]. Nanoha and Fate from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. I am Legion, for we are many. Re-L and Vincent from Ergo Proxy. spoiler[So what if he's a god?] |

A nice dark twist to Minami-Ke would be if that Stalker Guy managed to go out with the oldest sister
I can't think of any anime where the stalker character wins. for example: The St.Claire guy from Karin. |

How about Kallen & Lelouche from Code Geass? Shirley was too wishy-washy for Lelouche, and Kallen would have been the perfect warrior queen to the people's hero, Zero.

I haven't watched Pokemon in YEARS and I still want to see that kiss! One of mine that sprang immediately to mind is spoiler[Kira Yamato and Flay Allster] from Gundam Seed. They get together initially in a twisted way, break up and then, spoiler[they're separated shortly before Flay worked through her issues and realized how much she really loves Kira. Then, right when they've finally found each other again, she's killed in a painfully cruel way before she can even tell him how she felt. I mean, Kira even blocks the first shot, has time to be relieved and then a dragoon pod sends Flay into the afterlife.] It was just such an unfair way for things to turn out. Plus, while spoiler[Lacus] isn't exactly a consolation prize, I've always felt like there's something not quite right about them as a couple. *Edited to hide couple names as per suggestion in later post. I own that soundtrack too; I love that song. It was so sad when at the end of the song, Ash ask her if something up and Misty just say there nothing; I wish she told him she likes him. |

Um, shouldn't the name of the couple be in spoiler tags? If you bold the series name, at least it's easier to read the series name first, but it's still not as good as spoiler tags.
spoiler[Keiichi x Rena] from When They Cry: Well, romance isn't really the point of this series--in fact, it may get in the way of the power of friendship. Of course, the creators didn't miss the shipping opportunities, so we get much tease. I get the feeling that the series favors spoiler[Keiichi and Mion] more, which I find somewhat disappointing. spoiler[Athrun x Meyrin] from Gundam Seed Destiny: I've actually gotten into flame wars about this one with spoiler[Athrun x Cagalli] shippers. Really, though, he's more suited to a quiet, retired life, not at the forefront of politics. Even when he was with spoiler[Cagalli,] it was a rather uncomfortable existence. He would be more comfortable with a down to earth girl like spoiler[Meyrin.] This pairing is particularly cruel, as the TV series implied it was going to happen, then Final Plus shows the two together, then the Special Edition pulls the "like brother and sister" bit.
It is certainly an entertaining couple, but with the way he keeps taking advantage of her, it feels wrong to actually have them together. It just seems she deserves better, though if she's really dead set on him, maybe it's for the best. |

Code Geass - spoiler[Lelouch and C.C., their personalities just went together great. The director apparently claimed C.C. was a mother figure, but some of their physical interaction was anything but. That said, I would not re-write the ending as I loved it, simply have them hook up during the series.]
Clannad - spoiler[Tomoya and Kyou (or Tomoyo or Kotomi to a lesser extent). Nagisa just felt too "pure and perfect", and even her flashback was more of a "let's see what her parents did wrong and what they did to correct it" than a genuine character flaw for her if you look at it logically. And I get the whole "in Japan, relationships are less physical" deal, but I think they went too far with that in Clannad. I mean, in Kanon, Yuichi kissed the girl he chose.] Love Hina - spoiler[Keitaro and Motoke. Naru was such a jerk with occasional moments of kindness, but at least Motoke had more of a reason when she attacked Keitaro, and got progressively better as the series went on.] I think Kanon, Fruits Basket, and Shuffle are the only harem/love triangle series where the girl/boy I was rooting for won (as opposed to someone else, so not counting series where no one was definitely chosen). School Rumble's tricky, as I was equally rooting for Harima/Yakumo and Harima/Eri. So either way, I would have been both happy and disappointed. |
