It looks like I've triggered an algorithm that has identified me as someone who consistently tries to manipulate the percentages either up or down. Oh, well.....

I try to add enlightening commentary, but let's face it:
I'm far from perfect.

I have seen two three videos that examine the concept of "classics" from distinctly different perspectives:
  1. Gigguk | Garnt Maneetapho

  2. Mother's Basement | Geoff Thew

  3. Bonsai Pop | Mike ?
EDIT: 2020-04-11
In this video YouTube user Gigguk (Garnt Maneetapho) talks about SAO in the context of gateway anime.
2 Videos That Share a Common Theme:
  1. "The Greatest Thing Anime Has Done"|Gigguk (Garnt Maneetapho)
  2. "A Love Letter to a Place Further than the Universe" | Isla McTear (Line/link added 2020-06-24)

Seen/Read All (public list) Rating
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG (TV) Masterpiece
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society (movie) Excellent (dub & sub)
Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie Excellent
There is less philosophizing here than in G.I.T.S. 2: I ─ and that's a good thing!
Ghost Talker's Daydream (OAV) Good (dub & sub)
Carlos Santos pans this. Wikipedia says two of the episodes are anime originals.
  1. "Ghost Talker"
The events of a mother who apparently killed her daughter Miku and herself.....
The OST is subpar. The animation is barely serviceable. The plot is OK. Rate sub & dub at 9/11
  2. "Bindweed"
Mysterious phenomena in the Nakano district reminds Misaki of her childhood.
I am only rating this at 11/11 because the issues resonate with me. The OST and animation issues still remain.
  3. Anime only. Pt.I
  4. Anime only. Pt.II
    Pro: T&A
Cons: Subpar OST & animation. Also, what is the plot about?
Rating both the sub & dub at 6/11
8/11
Check out the manga. It has to be better.
(The) Girl from the Other Side: Siúil, a Rún (OAV) Masterpiece
A ten-minute art-house film. Just watch it to see if you enjoy it!
(The) Girl in Twilight (TV) So-so

There are no episode reviews for this.....
  1. Ep.#1: Story setup.
  2. Ep.#2: It would seem that, going forward, that these episodes are gonna be 2-parters.....
Nana is persuaded to stay and marry this male idol.
  3. Ep.#3: Okay, so who, exactly was that so-called "fortune teller" from episode #2 who gave Nana that frequency number? That is not explained! Also, what's with the analogue tapes?!
Episodes 2 &3 need to be rewatched in order.
  4. Ep.#4: (sigh) rewatch 4 & 5
  5. Ep.#5: This business of transformation sequences is becoming tiresome.
  6. Ep#6: "It's a trap!" Personally I rate the OP at 6/7 and the ED at 7/7.....
  7. Ep.#7: The girls -- even the loner -- all come together to fight the foe.....
No, these last 2 episodes don't make sense ─ there is no coherent plot here.
  8. Ep.#8: The girls go to her fragment.
  9. Ep.#9: The people in her fragment are really stupid.....
Stupidity in this episode aside, that ending is..... wow. (This alone bumps up the ranking by a notch ─ it's too bad that so much of this series is such a clusterfuck.)
  10. Ep.#10: 9:50 mark: So why wasn't that "clutter" detected?
"You are me"? what's up with the exposition?!
  11. Ep.#11: I'm sorry, but I find the action sequences to be absurd..... (Having said that, I find the girls' camaraderie to be infectious.)
  12. Ep.#12: OK, so it had an emotionally intense scene at the end, but can that really compensate for the crappiness of most of this series?
For a different perspective.....
Theron Martin wrote:
While the story ends with a major crisis seemingly having been averted, it doesn't feel like the major mysteries of the story – such as what happened to make Asuka's younger brother missing in every world – have been solved, nor is it clear how safe the base world may be. Despite that, the season's late episodes bring together the balance of serious and goofy story elements well enough for the story to be effective as a tale of personal growth.
(The) Girl Who Leapt Through Time (movie) Very good (dub), Masterpiece (sub)
  1. With a good plot and great character development, it has an open-ended ending that forces you to think long and hard about the movie -- after seeing it a second time, of course!
  2. It offers a message of hope.
Girls und Panzer (TV) Very good
Harmless fun.
Girls' Last Tour (TV) Excellent (dub), Masterpiece (sub)
  • Nice No, a terrific OST!
  • the OP just grew on me.....
  • I just loved the insert song Amadare no Uta the very 1st time I heard it!
  • graphics are "retro"
  • At the end of ep.#6 Yuuri says something unexpectedly philosophical.
  • I just love Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou -Main Theme-
  • Ep.#8: Seeing the girls get drunk was mildly amusing; very much a slice-of-life series.
As noted above, this is quite the slice-of-life series; but it does have ─ limited though it is ─ an overarching arc of a beginning, a middle and an ending. It quite reminded me of Haibane Renmei because Haibane Renmei spent its first five episodes in world-building mode before kicking off the plot in episode #6 ─ and it is a 13 episode series.
  • I must remember to ID the insert song in ep.#11.....
  • I must also remember to check out the manga.....

Regarding the English dub: The adult Voice actresses just didn't sound like children.....

Golgo 13: Queen Bee (OAV) Decent
Unfortunately, a great ending – on it's own – cannot overcome a rather crappy plot. (Rated: 7/11)
A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd (TV) Very good
  1. 12 ep.s (23 min.s/ep.) Here is the review.
  2. I have a soft spot for libraries and bibliophiles; so I'm surprised that I rated it at 8/11. Still, I ask you, my dear reader, to consider giving this series a shot. Read the review and the comments.
  • CON: High School setting; ALMOST a harem AND girls are in miniskirts (red, no less).
  • PRO: Bibliophile
  • PRO: Erik Satie used in OST.
  • CON: The last ½ of the last episode breaks the set magical rules.
Good Luck Girl! (TV) Very good (dub), Excellent (sub)
  1. Set up. Had me grinning. 10/11
  2. A dozen laughs a minute. I'm luvin' it!! 10/11
  3. Not so many laughs per minute; but I'm still luvin' it! 10/11
  4. The plots of the episodes are unwinding uniquely for each episode. Unexpectedly good! 10/11
  5. I keep laughing while hoping that Sakura develops some empathy! 10/11
  1. while the last 2 ep.s have resulted in far more tears of sorrow than tears of joy, both ep.s ended in hilarity. 10/11 rewatch#6
  2. A lot more tears of sorrow than tears of joy, but it's all good! 10/11
  3. Sakura dispatches a different god of misfortune with lethal cooking! Good stuff. 10/11
  4. This time Momiji tries to use a cute-as-the-dickens kitten; the results are hilariously the same. 10/11
  5. The de rigueur bath house episode. Hilarity in spades. 10/11
  6. Because of the de rigueur bath house episode, Momiji's personality has been turned inside out! Now what happens?! 10/11
  7. I love the way the series just toys with my expectations! 11/11
