North America¹s Largest Anime/Manga Convention To Be Held At the Newly Renovated Long Beach Convention Center in Southern California
Anaheim, California (August 9, 2006) ‹ After a record breaking convention in 2006 (over 40,000 in attendance), Anime Expo® officially announces dates and location for the highly anticipated 2007 expo. Anime Expo®, the nation¹s largest anime/manga convention, serves to foster trade, commerce and the interests of the general public and animation/ comics industry. Anime Expo® 2007 will be held from Jun 29, 2007-July 2, 2007 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA.
To accommodate the vast number of attendees expected in 2007, Anime Expo® 2007 will storm into the Long Beach Convention Center and utilize 100%, over 500,000 square feet, of the space-including three (3) halls, the Arena (which seats over 12,000) and all additional function space within the convention center itself. ³While we will be making adjustments to our room layouts and use of space, this is to take advantage of the benefits that Long Beach (Long Beach Convention Center) offers, and to ensure the best possible experience for our attendees in every way. We look forward to having a wonderful convention in Long Beach, and giving all of our new fans a chance to enjoy the beautiful and conveniently located downtown area,² states Trulee Karahashi Chief Financial Officer for the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Anime (SPJA-parent organization of Anime Expo®).
Additional benefits of the Long Beach Convention Center is the on-site 4,000 parking spaces with an additional 2,200 spaces located at The Pike-adjacent to the convention center. Also with a larger arena (which seats over 12,000), Anime Expo® events such as concerts, AX Idol and the highly coveted Masquerade will be able to provide ample seats for fans.
Cos-players (costume players) will also be able to also take advantage of the larger space provided at the Terrace Plaza and Grand Staircase which pictures can be taken in areas that can hold 100-200 individuals at once.
The 100+ local restaurants and local business in the Long Beach area will also benefit from the additional business of over 45,000+ attendees during the 4th of July weekend.
