Netmarble Appoints Byung Gyu Kim As New Co-Ceo
LOS ANGELES - January 3, 2024 - Netmarble, renowned developer and publisher of high-quality global games, announces the nomination of Vice President Byung Gyu Kim, an executive in charge of business planning, to become the company's new co-CEO.
Kim will serve as co-CEO alongside Young-sig Kwon, CBO (Chief Business Officer), and will be formally appointed after approval at the shareholders' meeting in March.
Netmarble mentioned, "We expect the new co-CEO, Byung Gyu Kim, who is in his 40s and has expertise not only in legal affairs but also in overseas affiliate management and strategic planning, to contribute positively to Netmarble's new changes and growth."
Former co-CEO, Gi-wook Do will step down as CEO to focus on his role as CFO.
Kim, who was born in 1974, graduated from Seoul National University with a law degree and joined Netmarble in 2015 after working at Samsung C&T. Kim has been in charge of various tasks across Netmarble Corp., including strategic planning, legal, policy, and overseas affiliate management.
