Anime Midwest has numerous events for lolita fashion fans in Chicago. For several years the event has hosted a fashion show featuring independent local designers, and last year played host to its first special lolita tea party with brand designers.
The full guest list currently includes 8 voice actors so far from various anime and is being updated regularly. Every year Anime Midwest brings together a ton of anime fans to celebrate fandom of Japanese culture, Japanese anime, video games, and being a nerd. Anime Midwest is organized by AnimeCon.org. The staff of AnimeCon.org raise money for charity every year, raising over $2,000 in 2014.
"My staff are pretty excited about supporting the lolita community," said organizer Ryan Kopf. "At least four or five of our most senior level staff wear lolita." More about http://ryankopf.net/
