SaikouCon Welcomes the League of Hot Geeks as Featured Guests for 2014
SaikouCon Also Set to Appear at Kotoricon 2014 this Saturday January 11
1/9/14 Breinigsville, PA – SaikouCon, which means "best convention”, is the Lehigh Valley's first and only large scale, annual anime convention.
Presented by Anime Ate My Brain Magazine, a division of Tastes Like Rock! Publishing (Tastes Like Rock! Music Magazine, Anime Ate My Brain Magazine, Tastes Like Rock! Radio), the convention promises to be a yearly high point in the Summer months of the anime convention season. Boasting a dedicated staff of longtime Japanese anime and manga fans, SaikouCon is excited to be the only annual convention dedicated exclusively to anime, manga, and Japanese culture in this area of Northeast Pennsylvania.
The convention promises to remain very hands and attendee friendly every year, also maintaining a safe atmosphere for attendees to enjoy the convention to their carefree fullest. As always, Cosplay =/= Consent is a very important issue to the staff of SaikouCon, and the same rules and regulations that made SaikouCon 2013 a safe haven for cosplayers will be enforced just as strictly at SaikouCon 2014.
SaikouCon's guest list keeps growing! Guests of Honor include RuffleButt Cosplay (Jessie Pridemore), Greg Houser (Evangelion, Shiki, One Piece, Ikki Tousen: Great Guardians, and more), Bill Rogers (Pokémon, Boogie Pop Phantom, Gravitation, and more), Marc Swint (Mass Effect: Paragon Lost, Anime Abandon). Featured Guests for SaikouCon 2014 are the Sci-Fi Photo Guys and the League of Hot Geeks, with more to be announced in the coming months! Musical Guests confirmed to perform thus far are The Adarna who will be headlining this years Cosplay Concert. Members of the band will also be presenting feature panels and workshops over the course of SaikouCon 2014.
The League of Hot Geeks were also Featured Guests at SaikouCon 2013 but could only attend one of the show, this year the League will be present for the whole show! The League of Hot Geeks is an organization that represents geeks all over the world through their love of cosplay. Our goal is to show people there's nothing wrong with being a geek. We also do reviews, news, promotions, convention coverage and other geeky events. For more info on the League of Hot Geeks check out www.leagueofhotgeeks.com.
SaikouCon will also have a table in the merchant area of their friends Kotoricon this Saturday January 11 from 10 AM – 7:30 pm at Gloucester Community College in Sewell, New Jersey. Kotoricon is in its fifth year and is organized by a campus club of student volunteers who want to encourage sharing in Japanese culture. We are the“little anime con with a big heart”. Proceeds from KotoriCon 2014 are given to charities including: Liberty in North Korea, Peach's Neet Feet, Able Gamers!, and Direct Relief. Kotoricon tickets are sold out and they will not be holding at the door registrations. Guests of Kotoricon 2014 include Sonny Strait, Kieran Strange, The Audio Pool, Uncle Yo, and more!
