Ultraman is Back to Save the Day in Animoca's Newest Game, Ultraman Galaxy

Based on The Ultraman character by Tsuburaya Productions, the puzzle strategy app combines role-playing and collectible card battles

Hong Kong – September 25, 2013 – Ultraman has been saving the world from sinister aliens, rampaging kaiju and monstrous threats since the 1960s. Now, Ultraman has arrived for your mobile device with the launch of Ultraman Galaxy by Animoca (www.animoca.com), the developer and publisher of Pretty Pet Salon, Star Girl, Thor: Lord of Storms and other mobile games. Ultraman Galaxy is available free of charge on Google Play™ and coming soon to Apple iTunes® and the Amazon Appstore™.

An official game licensed by Tsuburaya Productions Co., Ltd. (http://www.tsuburaya-prod.co.jp/en/), Ultraman Galaxy is a unique role playing/collectible card game based on The Ultraman character that first appeared in 1966 as the star of the tokusatsu (“special effects”) television series bearing his name. Created by special effects master Eiji Tsuburaya, Ultraman is a super-powered humanoid from outer space often called upon by the Science Special Search Party to use his distinctive fighting style and special powers to save the people of the Earth. Over the years the character became a major global pop culture icon, and even won a Guinness World Record for “TV series with the most number of spin-offs.”

In Ultraman Galaxy, Ultraman must once again face familiar villains such as Ultraman Belial, Alien Zarab and Alien Baltan. Players will need strategy, skill and a little luck to defeat enemies and help Ultraman save the planet. Ultraman Galaxy delivers unique gameplay that requires players to complete over 100 missions and quests, compete in collectible card battles, and take their chances on slot machines that affect the outcome of the game.

Players can assemble their own Ultraman Team by collecting and upgrading cards for Ultra Seven, Ultraman Zero and the rest of The Ultraman Family—over 400 in all. Each card brings a unique type of power to the battle, requiring players to strategize carefully when building their decks. Players can also unleash powerful combination attacks on their enemies by spinning the slots and matching three of the same color. The game is connected to Google+ and Facebook to let players form alliances with their friends to fight collectively against intergalactic villains.

Animoca is developing other fun and exciting games based on Ultraman, to be released shortly after Ultraman Galaxy.
