Gallery Nucleus Presents “Rising” by Junko Mizuno and “The Runaways” by Mab Graves
September 21, 2013 October 11, 2013
Opening Reception on Saturday September 21, 2013 from 7pm - 10pm
Alhambra, CA – Gallery Nucleus is very pleased to present its latest dual solo exhibits from talented artists Junko Mizuno and Mab Graves. Exhibiting in the main gallery is “Rising”, Junko's latest ambitious collection of over 20 new and original paintings and drawings depicting the strength of Japanese women throughout history and folklore.
Exhibiting in the atrium gallery is “The Runaways”, inspired by the fancifully magical and eerily curious Mab Graves. She presents her latest creation of new paintings and illustrations depicting the journey of several misfit little girls exploring the fragility of independence as they adventure through a haunting new wilderness. Exploring semiautobiographical themes of freedom, aloneness, and emancipation, the Lost Girls will find themselves amidst the beautiful bleakness of a strange new world as they ultimately discover a freedom we all have – to choose our own families.
Come meet Junko and Mab in person on opening night! Visit Nucleus' facebook page to have a chance to win an original artwork from Mab.
