Anime Midwest to Sell Out
May 31, 2013 - Anime Midwest in Chicago announced today that it expects tickets for the convention this July to sell out in advance. Anime Midwest is a 3-day celebration of Japanese animation, arts, and culture held annually in Chicago. This is the convention's third year, and it will take place July 5-7, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare.
Guests attending Anime Midwest including the voice of GLaDOS, Ellen McLain, in addition to Doug Walker, Todd Haberkorn, John Lowrie, Sonny Strait, Spike Spencer, Quinton Flynn, Linkara, Steam Powered Giraffe, numerous musicians, numerous lolita fashion designers, and numerous entertainers.
Anime Midwest had a bit under 2,000 attendees last year, when it was held at the Wyndham Hotel in Lisle, Illinois. This year over 5,000 attendees are expected.
Convention chairman Ryan Kopf said, "We hate to have to do this, but our number one priority is making sure we give people a good experience."
