Otakorp to Host Third Annual Matsuri
Baltimore, MD (May 29, 2013) – Otakorp will be hosting the third annual Matsuri on Thursday
August 8th
at West Shore Park by the Inner Harbor in Baltimore.
The Matsuri is free to the public and does not require an Otakon badge to participate in. The event will have carnival games, food stalls, representation from local clubs and other conventions, as well as featuring musical acts from:
● Adam WarRock – an artist that uses his nerd and geek sensibility to tap into current culture to produce comic book influenced music.
● DJ Cutman – a DJ and producer of chiptune music and video game remixes as well as a host of the weekly chiptune show This Week in Chiptune.
● The Slants – Hailing from Portland, Oregon, the Slants describe their music as “Chinatown Dance Rock.”
● UHUZI – With the name translating from Japanese to mean “sun”, UZUHI is a Japanese pop punk rock band that hails out of New York City.
The location of the Matsuri is West Shore Park just off of Light St. (between the Baltimore Visitor Center and Baltimore Science Center) and the hours of operation are from noon to 8:00pm.

ABOUT THE MATSURI AND OTAKORP, INC.: Now entering its third year, the Matsuri is an asian themed festival that combines music, games and food. It is a free festival that is traditionally held the Thursday before Otakon. The Matsuri is a festival sponsored by Otakorp, Inc., a Pennsylvania-based, 501(c)3 educational nonprofit whose mission is to promote the appreciation of Asian culture, primarily through its media and entertainment.
