On Wednesday, February 11, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston is hosting the internationally acclaimed classic anime feature film, “Grave of the Fireflies,” about two children struggling to survive in a Japan ravaged by World War II.
Following the film, anime experts John W. Dower, Pulitzer prize-winning historian and author of Embracing Defeat: Japan in the Wake of World War II; Roland Kelts, author of JapanAmerica: How Japanese Culture Has Invaded the US; and Frederik L. Schodt, author of Manga! Manga! The World of Japanese Comics will lead a discussion.
