Kadokawa, Indonesian Publisher Gramedia Establish Joint Venture for Manga, Light Novel Publishing

Kadokawa maintains majority 51% share of new PT Phoenix Gramedia Indonesia company
Kadokawa and Indonesian media company Gramedia announced on January 5 that they will establish a joint venture company named PT Phoenix Gramedia Indonesia to jointly develop a manga and light novel publishing business, as well as sales of merchandise and operation of digital publishing platforms.

Kadokawa maintains the majority 51% share of the new company, while PT Gramedia Asri Media maintains a 49% share.
Gramedia is the largest publisher in Indonesia, owning and operating the country's largest bookstore chain. It is part of the Kompas Gramedia Group, an Indonesian media conglomerate that also has verticals in radio, television, hotel management, and real estate, among others. Gramedia also owns Elex Media Komputindo and M&C!, the two largest manga and light novel publishing and localizing labels in Indonesia.
Kadokawa announced its intent to create an "IP creation structure" in Southeast Asia in 2022.
