Belle, Future Boy Conan, In/Spectre Released Monday (Updated)

On Monday, June 27, Anime Limited will release BELLE on standard DVD and Blu-ray Disc. The release will feature Japanese and English audio and English subtitles.

Anime Limited describes the film:

From the celebrated Academy Award-nominated director Mamoru Hosoda and Studio Chizu, creators of Mirai, Wolf Children, and Summer Wars, comes a fantastical, heartfelt story of growing up in the age of social media.

Suzu is a shy, everyday high school student living in a rural village. For years, she has only been a shadow of herself. But when she enters “U”, a massive virtual world, she escapes into the online persona of Belle, a gorgeous and globally-beloved singer. One day, her concert is interrupted by a monstrous creature chased by vigilantes. As their hunt escalates, Suzu embarks on an emotional and epic quest to uncover the identity of this mysterious “beast” and to discover her true self in a world where you can be anyone.

Mamoru Hosoda (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, The Boy and The Beast, Mirai) directed and scripted the film, and was also credited for the original work. Taisei Iwasaki (Blood Blockade Battlefront, Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan, The Naked Director) was the film's music director and composer.

Anime Limited will release the first volume of Future Boy Conan in a 4K UHD + Blu-ray Disc Collector's Edition pack on Monday. The release will include English and Japanese audio and English subtitles. The release will include an art case to house both the first and second volumes.

Twenty years ago, a terrible war fought with magnetic weapons caused the earth's axis to tilt, and earthquakes and tidal waves destroyed civilization. Conan is born into this new world, raised by his grandfather on an isolated island. But his life is forever changed when a mysterious girl named Lana washes ashore, pursued by shadowy operatives who seek to use her in a new scheme to control what's left of the world.

The directorial debut of Academy Award®-winner Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away), Future Boy Conan, is a landmark in animation history. This crackling sci-fi adventure series, beloved worldwide but never before released in the United Kingdom, features a new English language version and 4K digital restoration.

The classic series first aired in 1978.

Anime Limited will also release a Collector's Edition of In/Spectre on Blu-ray Disc on Monday. The release will include Japanese and English audio and English subtitles. The release includes episodes 1-12 and a 32-page artbook. Anime Limited describes the series:

Iwanaga Kotoko became the god of wisdom to the supernatural beings and spends her days solving problems for them. However, the boy who she fell head over heels for, Sakuragawa Kuro, is someone that is feared by all supernatural creatures. The two of them face various mysterious incidents involving the supernatural in this love x romance x mystery series. Where will these fantastical incidents lead them and what will happen with Kotoko's crush?

The anime premiered in January 2020. Keiji Gotoh (Kiddy Grade, Endride, Sengoku Collection) directed the anime at Brains Base, and Noboru Takagi (Durarara!!, Golden Kamuy, Kuroko's Basketball) was in charge of the series scripts. Takatoshi Honda (RIN-NE conceptual design) designed the characters and served as chief animation director. NAS presented the project.

Anime Limited will also release a Collector's Edition of the Lupin the Third: Part 5 Complete Series on Monday. The release with Japanese and English audio and English subtitles features all 24 episodes and an OVA, and extras include a 116-page art booklet. Funimation describes the anime:

Lupin meets the modern world of technology! With the help of the young security expert Ami, Lupin steals a digital fortune from Marco Polo, a wealthy dark web bank. When a social media game suddenly goes viral, everyone on the planet seems to be out to catch Lupin and his gang! Lupin, his gang, and Ami flee to another country to escape arrest. But the game changes from “Catch” to 'Kill,” placing a bounty on their heads!

The series premiered in April 2018.

MVM will also release a Blu-ray Disc set of Bakemonogatari on Monday, featuring all 15 episodes in Japanese with English subtitles. MVM previously released the series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in 2013, and it describes the series:

Thanks to Meme Oshino, high school student Koyomi Araragi is able to remain a human after coming across a female vampire. However, since the incident Koyomi seems to meet girls who have apparition-related issues. Hitagi Senjyogahara doesn't weigh anything, Suruga Kanbaru's right arm becomes like that of a monkey's, and a young girl, Mayoi, cannot find her way home no matter how many times she tries. Koyomi, a "Mr. Nice Guy," ends up helping each and every girl solve her problem with the help of Meme Oshino.

Akiyuki Shinbo (ef: a tale of melodies, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei) directed the series at SHAFT off scripts supervised by Fuyashi Tou (Zoku Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei). Akio Watanabe (Nurse Witch Komugi, The SoulTaker) adapted VOfan's original character designs. Satoru Kousaki (Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens, Lucky Star, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) composed the music.

Funimation will release Fruits Basket 2nd Season on both DVD and Blu-ray Disc. The company describes the second season:

The second season of the new anime premiered in April 2020 and aired for 25 episodes.

Lastly, Funimation will release One Piece Uncut: Collection 27 on DVD on Monday. The collection features episodes 642-667.
