Reported Issues With 4K Akira and Wicked City Home Releases

Anime UK News reports that 4K Akira is in SDR, not HDR, and that The Wicked City release omits the British-made English dub

Anime UK News reports that there are issues with Manga Entertainment's home releases of the 4K version of Akira and Yoshiaki Kawajiri's Wicked City, both released today.

According to Anime UK News, which says it has verified these issues, the 4K home release of Akira is in 4K SDR, not 4K HDR. Katsuhiro Ōtomo's film had been released in 4K HDR10 by Bandai Visual in Japan and Leonine in Germany.

The website also reports that Manga Entertainment's release of Wicked City omits the British-made dub of Yoshiaki Kawajiri's film, though it does include the alternate English dub made in America by Streamline Pictures. An American edition of Wicked City by Discotek Media, released in September, included both the English dubs.
