posted on by Andrew Osmond
Will contain complete TV series, plus OVA and extended episodes, four compilation films and 156-page art book

Anime Limited has announced it will release a Collectors Blu-ray of Kyoto Animation's Violet Evergarden on November 30. This will contain the complete 13-part TV series, and the fourteenth Violet Evergarden episode released as an OVA.

The set will also include the extended version of the thirteenth TV episode, which has extra scenes and is subtitled only; as well as the four compilation films of the series, subtitled. The compilation films were shown in Japanese cinemas and have a 5.1 audio mix.

The set will also contain a 156-page softback art book, including comments from director Taichi Ishidate, character designer Akiko Takase, art director Mikiko Watanabe and other staff. In addition, the set will include five art cards and two books of replica stamps. Pre-orders for the set will begin at 5 p.m on October 2.

Anime Limited adds that it has tentatively scheduled the film Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll for the first quarter of 2021.

Anime Limited describes the series as follows:

"After four long years of conflict, The Great War has finally come to an end. Caught up in the bloodshed was Violet Evergarden, a young girl raised to be a deadly weapon on the battlefield. Hospitalized and maimed in a bloody skirmish during the War's final leg, she was left with only words from the person she held dearest, but no understanding of their meaning.

"Recovering from her wounds, Violet starts a new life working at CH Postal Services. There, she witnesses by pure chance the work of an 'Auto Memory Doll', amanuenses that transcribe people's thoughts and feelings into words on paper. Moved by the notion, Violet begins work as an Auto Memory Doll, a trade that will take her on an adventure, one that will reshape the lives of her clients and hopefully lead to self-discovery."
