posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
30-minute OVA to be featured as DLC for Bokuten game releasing on December 19

MangaGamer announced at Anime NYC on Saturday that it will release the Kira Kira 5th Anniversary Live Anime Kick Start Generation OVA as part of its release of OVERDRIVE's Bokuten: Why I Became an Angel (Boku ga Tenshi ni Natta Wake) game. The game releases on December 19 on Steam, MangaGamer's website, and Discord.

The OVA is part of two DLC packs that the company is launching for the game. The DLC packs will be available on MangaGamer's website and on Steam. The first DLC pack is a vocal album plus a soundtrack, which features 53 total tracks. The DLC will retail for US$9.99.

The second DLC pack will feature the "Kick Start Generation" OVA plus a 10-track soundtrack. The OVA will include English subtitles. The DLC pack will retail for US$19.99. MangaGamer describes the OVA:

Join DEARDROPS, D2b, and CaS in an incredible, animated performance! This thirty minute anniversary OVA showcases some of your favorite OVERDRIVE songs, as well as some brand-new ones, for your listening and viewing pleasure.

MangaGamer has not yet revealed a release window for the DLC pack.

Media Factory released the anime on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in Japan in 2013 to celebrate the fifth anniversary of its Kira Kira game. The OVA features a "what-if" story that reunites the Second Literature Club Band members Kirari, Chie, Maejima, and Sarina, several months after the concert in the d2b vs DEARDROPS ~Cross the Future~ fan disk. Characters from the Bokuten: Why I Became an Angel game also appear.
