The official website for the television anime adaptation of Gamu's Africa no Salaryman (Businessmen in Africa) manga revealed the show's staff, additional cast, promotional video, theme song information, visual, and October premiere on Tokyo MX on Friday. The below video features the English title African Office Worker, and previews Hiro Shimono's opening theme song "Soul Flag."
The anime stars:
- Akio Ohtsuka as Lion
- Kenjirō Tsuda as Lizard
- Hiro Shimono as Toucan
- Hina Kino as Sasshō Hamster
- Akira Ishida as Company President Turtle
Tetsuya Tatamitani is the show's director, chief animation director, art director, background artist, color designer, and director of photography. HOTZIPANG is animating the show, and is also the show's original character designer and prop designer. Yūichirō Momose is writing and overseeing the scripts, and Tako Yamaguchi is composing the music.
Gamu's comedy manga follows a lion, lizard, and toucan as they live the lives of office workers in a capitalist society in Japan, while also dealing with their unique situations as animals living beyond the savanna and the food chain.
Gamu launched the manga on the Gene pixiv manga website in December 2014.
The manga inspired an anime that debuted in Production I.G's "Tate Anime" (Vertical Anime) smartphone app (now "Anime Beans") in June 2017. The 2017 anime featured a different voice cast from the new project.
The new television anime adaptation was previously listed as "Project #1" for the manga.
