anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day involves six childhood friends, who drifted apart after one of their number, Meiko "Menma" Honma dies in an accident. Ten years later the leader of the group, Jinta Yadomi, has withdrawn from society, neglecting high school and lives as a shut-in. However suddenly he starts to see a ghost of Meiko whom only he can see and interact with. Meiko wishes for Jinta to fufill her wish so she can pass onto the afterlife but cannot remember what that wish is. So Jinta pulls together their childhood friends once again to help Meiko move on and in turn find the resolution they require to move on aswell.

Tatsuyuki Nagai (Toradora!, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun) directed off scripts by Mari Okada (Toradora!, Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler). Masayoshi Tanaka (Toradora!, Katekyo Hitman Reborn!) designed the characters and the singer-songwriter REMEDIOS (Reimy) composed the music. The anime premiered in April 2012 in Fuji TV's late-night Noitamina timeslot

Aniplex of America describes the story of Granblue Fantasy the Animation:

This is a world of the skies, where many islands drift in the sky. A boy named Gran and a talking winged lizard named Vyrn lived in Zinkenstill, an island which yields mysteries. One day, they come across a girl named Lyria. Lyria had escaped from the Erste Empire, a military government that is trying to rule over this world using powerful military prowess. In order to escape from the Empire, Gran and Lyria head out into the vast skies, holding the letter Gran's father left behind - which said, "I will be waiting at Estalucia, Island of Stars".

The anime adapts Cygames' Granblue Fantasy smartphone game. Yuuki Itoh (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid) directed the anime at A-1 Pictures with Ayako Kurata as anime series director. Cygames itself was credited for the scripts, and Toshifumi Akai (Kokoro Connect, Sound of the Sky) designed the characters. Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy games I-XI), Tsutomu Narita (Final Fantasy XIV composer and arranger), and Yasunori Nishiki composed the music.
