posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Game releases on PS4, Switch in N. America on June 25, in Europe on June 28; on Steam on June 20

Idea Factory International began streaming a new trailer for Compile Heart's Super Neptunia RPG (Yūsha Neptune: Sekai yo Uchū yo Katsumoku se yo!! Ultimate RPG Sengen!!) game on Thursday. The video introduces the game's main characters, the Gamindustri goddesses.

Idea Factory International will release the game for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on June 25 in North America and June 28 in Europe. The game's Steam version will launch on June 20. The game will have both physical and digital editions for PS4 and Switch.

The PS4 release will include "two slightly modified CGs," but gameplay will remain the same as the original Japanese release for all platforms.

The PS4 and Switch versions will include English and French subtitles, and the Steam version will include subtitles in English, French, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese.

The game launched in Japan for the PlayStation 4 on December 20.

Idea Factory describes the 2D side-scrolling game:

In a world where 2D games reign supreme, an organization called Bombyx Mori forces its citizens to churn out 2D games as offerings to their leader. Those who dare to use new technologies or whose games don't meet their standards risk banishment to the soul-crushing Trial Grounds.

A girl awakens in this world with no recollection of anything beyond her name, Neptune, and soon realizes she possesses great strength. With her newfound sense of heroism and a strange book known as Histoire in hand, she sets off on a journey to see if there might be more than this two-dimensional life!

Quebec-based video game developer Artisan Studios developed the game, and is the first Western studio to develop a game in the franchise. Series artist Tsunako hand-drew the characters.
