Bandai Namco Entertainment began streaming a new promotional video on Saturday for the Nintendo Switch version of the Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization game. The company will release the Switch version in Japan on April 25.
Bandai Namco Entertainment America will release the game for Switch this spring, after moving the release date up from this summer. The Switch release will include the "Fighters of the Blue Sky" and the "Shrine Maiden of the Abyss" expansions.
Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization shipped for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan in October 2016, and in North America and Europe in November 2016. The game later received a PC release in October 2017.
Original Sword Art Online light novel author Reki Kawahara collaborated on the game. The characters Kirito, Asuna, Leafa, Silica, Lisbeth, and Sinon appear in the game, and players can choose up to three characters to join their party. The game's new characters are a mysterious AI named Premiere (voiced by Yuiko Tatsumi) and Genesis (voiced by Kazuyuki Okitsu). Genesis, like Kirito, is called the "black swordsman."
