Level 5 Reveals Inazuma Eleven SD Smartphone Game

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Game is based on traditional children's game "ohajiki"

Level 5 CEO Akihiro Hino announced during an Inazuma Eleven livestream on Friday that Level 5 is developing a new smartphone game for iOS and Android devices in the franchise temporarily titled Inazuma Eleven SD. The announcement also showed some gameplay, which is featured in the video below (the video will automatically start at the gameplay footage).

Hino said that the game uses the traditional children's game of "ohajiki" as a base. Players create their own teams and compete against other players' teams online. Hino said that nothing about the game's release has been decided yet, and Level 5 might release the game as a free bonus attached to another work, or might release it as a standalone work.

Level 5 is also producing the Inazuma Eleven: Ares no Tenbin game for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. The game is set for a general 2019 release, and Hino previously stated that the game will most likely release sometime after May 2019. The game was originally slated for summer 2018, but was delayed to this fall, then again to this winter before this most recent delay to a general 2019 release date.

The game's accompanying anime series premiered on April 2018 with a one-hour special and aired for 26 episodes.
