Cowboy Bebop Film Gets U.K. Cinema Release on September 19

2001 film will screen in venues including Bristol, Cardiff Nantgarw, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham and others

AnimeUK News reports that Park Circus and Sony Pictures Releasing will screen the Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door anime film in U.K. cinemas on Wednesday September 19, in Japanese with English subtitles.

The following venues are confirmed as of writing, all in Showcase cinemas at 7.15 p.m.

Bluewater, Bristol, Cardiff Nantgarw, Coventry, Derby, Dudley, Leeds, Leicester, Manchester, Nottingham, Reading, Southampton

Funimation previously described the film, which is spun off from the 1998 Cowboy Bebop TV series.

What should have been an easy bounty turns into biological war after a terrorist gets ahold of a deadly virus. Drawn in by the pretty price on the mastermind's head, Spike and the Bebop crew are ready to collect a much-needed reward. Unfortunately, the gang's about to find themselves in more trouble than money when the terrorist threatens to unleash the virus on Halloween—effectively killing everyone on Mars. With little time and leads that seem more dreamy than helpful, they'll have to use their own bag of tricks to stop a dangerous plot.

The film originally opened in Japan in 2001. The Cowboy Bebop anime series is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
