English-dubbed announcement trailer streamed for digital-only title

Bandai Namco Entertainment America announced on Wednesday that it will release its Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy (Naruto Shippūden: Narutimate Storm Trilogy) game bundle for Nintendo Switch in the Americas as a digital-only title. The official YouTube channel for the Bandai Namco Entertainment America also began streaming a new English-dubbed announcement trailer.

The announcement trailer and Bandai Namco's press release reveal that the game launches on Thursday, April 26, the same day that the game launches for the Switch in Europe and Japan. The video's description and the company's Twitter account had listed an incorrect release date of Friday, April 27.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy bundles the first three games in the Ultimate Ninja Storm (Narutimate Storm in Japan) game series. The release will include many of the past downloadable contents that Bandai Namco Entertainment has released for the games. The game shipped on PlayStation 4 in Japan last July.

The first Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm game shipped on the PlayStation 3 in North America in November 2008 and in Japan in January 2009. Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 arrived in North America and in Japan on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in October 2010, and Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 arrived on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in March 2013 in North America and April 2013 in Japan.

Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 arrived in North America and Japan in February 2016 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Bandai Namco Entertainment released Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Road to Boruto, an expansion for the game, last February.

Bandai Namco Entertainment released Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy in Europe for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and in several languages on PC via Steam. The company also released the Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Legacy collection — which includes Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy and Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Road to Boruto — for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in the West last August.

Update: Bandai Namco Entertainment America confirmed with ANN that the Twitter post and video description were incorrect, and the North American release date is April 26.

Disclosure: Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bandai Namco Holdings Inc., is a non-controlling, minority shareholder in Anime News Network Inc.
