CB International Delays Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya Film's Indonesian Screening Due to Illegal Video Recording

Film distributor allegedly found incidents of illegal recording of No Game, No Life Zero film

Indonesian film distributor CB International Movie announced on Sunday that it has indefinitely postponed the screening of Gekijōban Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya: Sekka no Chikai (Movie Version Fate/kaleid liner Prisma ☆ Illya: Oath Under the Snow), the new anime film in the Prisma Illya franchise. The company stated that it did so due to an incident of alleged illegal recording of the No Game, No Life Zero anime film in the country.

Odex is distributing the film in Indonesia, as well as in other Southeast Asian territories. Odex previously revealed that it had found a case of alleged illegal recording of No Game, No Life Zero in Malaysian cinemas. At the time, Odex stated that the incident had "greatly threatened the relationship between Japanese copyright owners."

Earlier in the year, Odex had also "received a notice" from Japan due to supposed leaked footage of its screening of the Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale film, which it had traced to cinemas in Singapore and Indonesia. At the time, Odex noted that the incident had resulted in the "very likelihood of Singapore and Malaysia being blacklisted for future anime film release," but it noted that it was working to limit the damage. Odex has continued to Screen Anime films in these countries throughout the year.

Odex has also reported another incident regarding similarly leaked footage from a screening of the Gekijōban Kuroko no Basuke Last Game film in Malaysia in May.

Odex had not yet revealed a definite opening date for Gekijōban Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya: Sekka no Chikai before CB International Movie announced its indefinite delay of the film's screening.

The film opened in Japan on August 26. The film debuted at #1 in Japan's mini-theater rankings.
