Ambition of Oda Nobuna's Kasuga writes novels about 15th century France

Shueisha's website listing for the upcoming Ulysses 0 prequel novel for Mikage Kasuga's Ulysses: Jeanne d'Arc to Renkin no Kishi (Ulysses: Jeanne d'Arc and the Alchemy Knights) novel series briefly announced that an anime project is in the works. The announcement has since been removed from the listing but it is available through cache.

The novel series' story takes place in 15th century France, during the Hundred Years' War with England. Montmorency, the son of a noble, immerses himself in the study of magic and alchemy at a school for knights. However, after France's defeat at Agincourt, the school is disbanded and Montmorency is forced to flee. While on the run he meets a miraculous village girl named Jeanne.

Kasuga released the first volume with illustrations by tomari Meron in August 2015. Shueisha published the third and most recent volume in April 2016. The Ulysses 0: Jeanne d'Arc to Hime Kishi Danchō Kuroshi prequel novel is slated for October 25.

Kasuga's Oda Nobuna no Yabō (The Ambition of Oda Nobuna) light novel series also inspired a television anime in 2012.
