Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls Manga Ends in July

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Manga adaptation of Spike Chunsoft's spinoff game launched in January 2015

The 18th and latest chapter of Hajime Tōya's Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls (Zettai Zetsubō Shōjo: Danganronpa Another Episode) manga revealed on June 9 that the manga will end in its next chapter. The manga runs on Kadokawa's "Comic Clear" website, and the site will publish the final chapter on July 14.

Tōya launched the manga on the website in January 2015. Kadokawa published the manga's second compiled volume (pictured at right) in September.

The manga adapts Spike Chunsoft's PlayStation Vita spinoff game of the same name. The game shipped in Japan in September 2014. NIS America released the game in the West in September 2015. The company describes the game:

Komaru Naegi, little sister to Makoto Naegi, has been imprisoned inside a mysterious apartment for over a year. One day, she is rescued by Byakuya Togami of Future Foundation, but the rescue is derailed by a sudden attack of hundreds of Monokumas. Komaru soon discovers that the city has been taken over by a group of children calling themselves the Warriors of Hope. Their leader, monaca, declares that the city will be the site of a “children's paradise,” and to accomplish this, all the adults will be exterminated. Komaru teams up with Toko Fukawa to try to survive the rampaging Monokumas, escape the crafty Monokuma Kids, and uncover the secrets of the city.

The game is receiving a port for the PlayStation 4 that will arrive in Europe on June 23, in North America on June 27, and in Japan on June 29. Spike Chunsoft is also releasing the game on Steam this month.
