2 Haikyu!! Compilation Films Open in September

This year's 27th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is revealing on Monday that Haikyu!! Sainō to Sense (Haikyu!! Genius and Sense), the first of two upcoming compilation films for the television anime adaptation of Haruichi Furudate's Haikyu!! volleyball manga, will open in Japan on September 15. The second film, titled Haikyu!! Concept no Tatakai (Haikyu!! Battle of Concepts), will open on September 29. Each film will have a two-week limited screening.
The magazine is also revealing that the first compilation film will get new scenes portraying what happens after the match with Aobajōsai High. The issue will also reveal the first compilation film's key visual.
The first movie will portray the match against Aobajōsai High School from the second season. The second movie will cover the match against Shiratorizawa Academy portrayed in the third and latest season.
Production I.G's anime adaptation of Furudate's volleyball manga premiered in April 2014. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired and Sentai Filmworks licensed and released the series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in June and August 2015. The second season of the anime premiered in October 2015. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for North America.

Viz Media published the 11th volume of the original manga in North America on May 2. The manga's 27th volume in Japan will come bundled with a 23-minute original anime DVD on August 4. The manga's 26th volume shipped in Japan on May 2.
