Platinum Games Plans to Publish Its Own Titles

1st self-published game will be small in scope

Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba stated in an interview with Japanese games website Gamespark on May 21 that it intends to publish its own games, alongside the planning and development. Inaba stated that the first title that the company plans to publish on its own will be small in scope, but will be "purely platinum-colored," and will deliver on the game elements that the company has focused on.

In addition, Inaba commented on the recent releases of the company's Bayonetta and Vanquish games on the PC via Steam. Inaba said Platinum Games proactively wants to release titles on Steam, saying that the variety of hardware of PC users makes the environment different and more challenging compared to consoles. Inaba said that Platinum Games wants to release its games on many different platforms, and that it can't afford to ignore the PC. He also noted that publishers are always in talks to release their games on PC.

Aside from Bayonetta and Vanquish, Platinum Games has developed such games as Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, The Wonderful 101, and most recently, NieR:Automata.
