Philippine Cable Provider SKYcable Adds Aniplus-Asia Channel

Philippine cable television provider SKYcable began listing Aniplus-Asia as part of its channel offerings on Monday. The channel is available as channel 139 in Metro Manila, the CAMANAVA (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela City) region, and Rizal province on Standard Definition.
Aniplus HD/Aniplus-Asia is a 24-hour anime channel based in Singapore, and is a subsidiary of South Korean channel Aniplus TV. The channel launched in 2013, and is currently broadcast in Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand. The channel partnered with Southeast Asian streaming service iflix and HOOQ in August 2015 to add 21 anime titles to the service, and has since been adding titles to both services on a seasonal basis. iflix is available in Malaysia and the Philippines, while HOOQ is available in the Philippines, India, Indonesia and Thailand. Aniplus-Asia also added some of its linear programming, as well as its on-demand library, on the Malaysian-based Tribe streaming service in December. Tribe is also available in Indonesia and the Philippines.
Aniplus-Asia previously announced last June that it is expanding to the Philippines and Thailand. Aniplus-Asia partnered with Omnicontent Management, Inc. to distribute the channel. At the time, Aniplus-Asia had not yet found a cable carrier for the channel.
Aniplus-Asia also recently held a fan screening of the Kantai Collection: KanColle anime film in the Philippines on May 6.
