The "Fate Project 2017 Special Stage" event at AnimeJapan 2017 announced on Sunday that a stage play adaptation of the Fate/Grand Order smartphone role-playing game app has been green-lit. The stage play, titled Fate/Grand Order The Stage: Shinsei Entaku Ryōiki Camelot Replica; Agateram (Fate/Grand Order The Stage: Domain of the Holy Round Table Camelot Replica; Agateram), will run at the Zepp Blue Theater in Roppongi, Tokyo from July 14 to July 17.
The staff at the stage event also unveiled a key visual for the stage project.
The stage event revealed that an in-game event for the app will feature a special story written by Kinoko Nasu, the original story creator of the Fate franchise. Additionally, a real-life event celebrating the two-year anniversary of the smartphone game's release will be held on July 29 and 30 at the Makuhari Messe convention center outside of Tokyo.
The original smartphone game inspired the 74-minute Fate/Grand Order: First Order television anime special that aired in Japan on December 31. Aniplex of America, Crunchyroll, and Daisuki streamed the special the same day.
The original game has been downloaded over 8 million times since it launched on Android and iOS devices in summer 2015.
