Illustrator Aco Arisaka (manga adaptations of Sound Horizon's "Vanishing Starlight" song, May Your Soul Rest in Magdala light novel series) is designing the characters. Masaki Watanabe is the series director. Taro Iwashiro (Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos, The Heroic Legend of Arslan) is composing the music. M.A.O is performing the opening song "Tabiji" (Travel Poem), and Haruca is performing the ending theme song "Eien no Kotae" (Eternity's Answer).

A flyer that Toei distributed last March describes the story:

Kojiro Shindo. Cabinet Office Director-General for Policy Planning, is at Haneda Airport for a business trip.
While the plane is on the runway, a giant structure suddenly appears out of thin air.
The plane carrying Shindo and 251 passengers is taken undamaged inside the giant structure. After everyone disembarks, a man who looks like an ordinary human being shows up. He assures those from the plane that they're not in any danger. Shindo asks him to identify himself and explain the situation. Then the outside of the structure is displayed on a large screen, and at the same time, every passenger's cell phone starts ringing all at once. On each cell phone screen is a message from this man, to every one of Japan's citizens: "I, Yaha-kui zaShunina, hereby notify you that I am going to intervene in Japan's internal affairs."
What is this young man's goal? And will Shindo manage to become an intermediary between Japan and the Anisotorons...?

The flyer describes the two main characters:

Yaha-kui zaShunina (pictured below), an Anisotoron who suddenly appears in Japan. He closely resembles a human being, in terms of outward appearance. He possess technology that surpasses modern science and tech, and he uses this overwhelming power to level various political demands at Japan.

Kojiro Shindo, the protagonist; Cabinet Office Director-General for Policy Planning. As the first of mankind to make contact with the Anisotoron Yaha-kui zaShunina, he becomes a Dietman who works to bridge the gaps between the two species.

The flyer adds that "Anisotorons" are intelligent life forms that come from Aniso, a "world outside space." Anisotorons "created space, and they collect the 'information volume' that space generates." Additionally, the flyer notes that "Kado" is a giant structure that is more than 2 kilometers in height and length that features high-level technology, and the inside is isolated. The Kado can build an entire world inside of itself, and can continue functioning forever without needing to contact the outside world.
