Sega Debuts New Footage From Sonic Forces Game

Sonic Mania game delayed to summer, "Flying Battery Zone" previewed

Sega confirmed during its panel in the SXSW 2017 event on Thursday that its new Sonic the Hedgehog game is titled Sonic Forces. Sega also reconfirmed that the game is slated for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC this holiday season.

Sonic Team studio head Takashi Iizuka stated that the game will have three gameplay styles: modern, classic, and a third unrevealed style. Sega debuted a reveal trailer and gameplay footage, which video game news website Gematsu is streaming:

Sega previously streamed a teaser for the game last July.

In addition, Sega delayed its Sonic Mania game's release date from spring to summer. The game will launch for the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

Sega also debuted a video for the Sonic Mania's "Flying Battery Zone," taken from the Sonic & Knuckles game.

Sega is developing Sonic Mania with Christian Whitehead, Headcannon, and PagodaWest Games. The "2D platforming high speed adventure" game will feature new zones and remixed classic levels, and players can play as Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles.
