Discotek Licenses Captain Harlock Endless Orbit SSX Anime
posted on by Karen Ressler
Discotek Media announced on Facebook on Tuesday that it has licensed the Captain Harlock Endless Orbit SSX (Arcadia of My Youth: Endless Orbit SSX) television anime and plans to release it on DVD in North America this year.
The 22-episode anime premiered in 1982 as a sequel to the Arcadia of My Youth film that debuted earlier the same year. Harlock and his friends, now declared outlaws by the Illumidas-occupied Earth government, search for a paradise where all humanity can be free. Along the voyage, they discover that the Illumidas has occupied other planets in addition to Earth and must battle to put an end to their tyranny, and avoid being captured by the various people trying to hunt them down for reward money offered by the Earth government.
Discotek announced last August that it had licensed Arcadia of My Youth, an alternate retelling of Leiji Matsumoto's Space Pirate Captain Harlock television series.
