Shonen Jump Teases Shika High's Competitive Dance Club Manga's Climax

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Viz, Shueisha debuted Takuma Yokota's series simultaneously in May 2015

This year's 10th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Takuma Yokota's Straighten Up! Welcome to Shika High's Competitive Dance Club (Sesuji wo Pin! to - Shikakō Kyōgi Dance-bu e Yōkoso) manga will reach its climax in the next issue on February 13. The 86th chapter will be 23 pages long.

Viz Media describes the story:

High school is hard enough in America, but in Japan they have a dilemma we never have to face—what club to join! There are lots of clubs to choose from, but finding the right one is difficult for some students. Like Masaharu Tsuchiya for example. He's as dorky as they get and determined to make high school different than elementary school. But can he keep his inherent awkwardness from ruining his first day? Furthermore, what club will he join? Surely not something like...dance club?

Yokota launched the manga on May 11, 2015. The ninth compiled book volume shipped in Japan on Friday.

Viz Media's digital version of Weekly Shonen Jump debuted the manga on the same day it launched in Japan as part of its "Jump Start" initiative. The North American company launched the "Jump Start" initiative in September 2014. Under this initiative, Viz's digital English version of Weekly Shonen Jump runs the first three chapters of "almost every single" new series that debuts in Shueisha's original Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in Japan.
