posted on by Karen Ressler
This year's ninth issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing Monday that My Hero Academia will get a smartphone game titled My Hero Academia: Smash Tap. The game is slated for 2017.
Kōhei Horikoshi's original manga also inspired the My Hero Academia: Battle for All Nintendo 3DS game last May and the My Hero Academia: Gekitotsu! Heroes Battle arcade card game with accompanying smartphone game.
The anime adaptation's first season of 13 episodes premiered on the MBS /TBS channel last April. The anime's second season will air on Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. on the NTV (Nippon TV) and YTV (Yomiuri TV) channels beginning in April. The new season will cover the U.A. Sports Festival arc of Horikoshi's original manga.
The manga also inspired an event anime that screened in Tokyo in November and then in four other Japanese cities in December. The anime will ship on DVD in Japan with a limited edition of the 13th volume the manga on April 4.
Update: The game's official website revealed on January 30 that the game will arrive this spring.
