posted on by Alex Mateo
Upgraded game launches on Xbox One, PS4, PS3, PC on February 16

Koei Tecmo announced on Tuesday that Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII with Power-Up Kit (Sangokushi 13 with Power-Up Kit), the upgraded version of its Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII strategy game, will get an Xbox One digital-only release in Japan on February 16, 2017. The game will also ship for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC on the same day, delayed from its original release date of December 22.

The "Power-Up Kit" is an upgrade to Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII. It will include new officers, new faces for existing officers, and novel gameplay features such as Fame, War Council, and Battlefield Expansion. The Xbox One, PS4, and PS3 versions of the game with the Power-Up Kit will have a retail price of 9,800 yen (about US$83) while the PC version will cost 10,800 yen (about US$92). The Power-Up Kit will also retail separately for 5,300 yen (about US$45) for the Xbox One, PS4, and PS3 versions, and 5,800 yen (about US$49) for the PC version.

Koei Tecmo streamed a trailer for Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII with Power-Up Kit:

Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII shipped for PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam in North America on July 5. Koei Tecmo Games released the game in Japan on January 28 after a delay to "increase the quality of the game." Its original December 10, 2015 release date would have coincided with the 30th anniversary of the original Romance of the Three Kingdoms game's December 10, 1985 release date. The game is the 13th installment in the long-running strategy game series.
