posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Weekly Shonen Jump's website for Yūki Tabata's Black Clover manga is now streaming a promotional video for the event anime based on the manga that debuted at the Jump Special Anime Festa screening event on November 27 and December 4.
The anime will get a DVD release bundled with the manga's 11th volume on May 2. XEBEC animated the 27-minute episode, which adapts the manga's first chapter and stars Shun Horie (Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation's Seiya Urisaka) as Asta and Sōma Saitō (Haikyu!!'s Tadashi Yamaguchi) as Yuno.
Black Clover is also getting a television anime adaptation by Studio Pierrot.
Tabata began the series in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015. Viz Media publishes the Black Clover manga in North America digitally in its Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, and also in print.
Update: Viz Media's Weekly Shonen Jump Twitter account corrected its previous statement that the television anime would air in 2017, and now said the series "doesn't have a date yet."
