Sephiroth Joins Dissidia Final Fantasy Arcade Game as Playable Character

Square Enix announced with a video on Monday that it will add Final Fantasy VII's Sephiroth as a playable character in its Dissidia Final Fantasy arcade game. The update is slated for November 24 for players who have met certain conditions in the game's "Conflict of the Gods" event and December 8 for other players.
Video game news website Famitsu also streamed a video showing Sephiroth's commands for the game.
The arcade game features a 3 vs. 3 battle system. The game also includes a summons gauge that players can use to summon Ifrit and other popular Final Fantasy summons when the gauge is full. Koei Tecmo Games' Team Ninja (Dead or Alive series) developed the game, which uses technology from a PlayStation 4 core system instead of a dedicated arcade circuit board.
The game launched in Japanese arcades in November 2015, and previous updates this year added Final Fantasy Tactics' Ramza Beoulve, Final Fantasy's Garland, Final Fantasy IV's Kain Highwind, Final Fantasy VI antagonist Kefka Palazzo, and Final Fantasy Type-0's Ace as playable characters.
Square Enix released Dissidia Final Fantasy, a PlayStation Portable fighting game featuring Final Fantasy heroes and villains, in 2008 in Japan, and in 2009 in other parts of the world. The company then released the Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy sequel in 2011 for the PSP with new characters, stages, and story.
Square Enix announced the Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia game for release on smartphones this year.
