Funimation Comments on Escaflowne Backer Reward Flaws
posted on by Karen Ressler
FUNimation Entertainment issued a statement with ANN on Tuesday regarding reports of errors in the shipment of backer rewards for its The Vision of Escaflowne Kickstarter campaign. Funimation's official statement is as follows:
Funimation has received inquiries from backers of The Vision of Escaflowne Kickstarter regarding errors in their reward shipments. Our customer support team is working to make sure that each backer received every item promised. Kickstarter backers, who have an issue with their reward shipment, are asked to contact Funimation at productconcerns@funimation.com, or via direct message on Kickstarter, to receive assistance rectifying any problems.
Backers reported missing items, such as DVDs and the soundtrack CD, and items damaged on arrival.
Funimation released the television series and the movie on Tuesday in Blu-ray Disc collector's edition on Tuesday. Funimation also released the film and both halves of the television anime on separate Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo packs.
The original anime series aired in Japan in 1996 and Bandai Entertainment previously released the series with an English dub. Funimation launched a Kickstarter in February to gauge interest in a new English dub that would cover the director's cut of the series. The Kickstarter reached its goal of US$100,000 within three days of launching, and ended in March with US$318,784 raised by 2,058 backers.
