Aniplex began streaming a commercial and a character trailer for WWW.WAGNARIA!! (WWW.WORKING), the television anime of the web comic Web-ban Working!!, on Friday. The commercial previews the opening theme song "Eyecatch! Too much!," performed by the cast, and the character trailer introduces Takuya Kōno (voiced by Hiro Shimono). (Note: The YouTube videos linked are region-locked outside of Japan).
The website previously streamed videos for Hana, Sayuri, Daisuke, Masahiro, Kisaki, Kenichirō, Yūta, Shiho, Miri, and Rui.
Aniplex USA will stream the series on Crunchyroll beginning on Saturday, October 1 at 12:00 p.m. EDT. The series will also stream on Daisuki one week later. In Japan, the series will premiere on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11 on October 1 at 11:00 p.m. The series will then premiere on Yomiuri TV on October 3, and on TV Aichi and Sapporo TV on October 4.
Web-ban Working!! is a four-panel web comic spinoff of Karino Takatsu's original Working!! manga series. It takes place at another Wagnaria family restaurant location. In the story, Daisuke Higashida gets a job at the restaurant because of family financial difficulties, but no one who works there is normal.
Yumi Kamakura (Wagnaria!!3) is directing the anime at A-1 Pictures. Mayuko Nakano is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director. Takao Yoshioka is handling series composition and Masaru Yokoyama is composing the music.
Cast members Haruka Tomatsu (as Hana Miyakoshi), Yōko Hikasa (as Sayuri Muranushi), and Sora Amamiya (as Shiho Kamakura) will perform the opening theme song "Eyecatch! Too much!," and cast members Yūichi Nakamura (as Daisuke Higashida), Kouki Uchiyama (as Masahiro Adachi), and Kensho Ono (as Yūta Shindō) will perform the ending theme song "Mujūryoku Fever" (Zero Gravity Fever).
Many of the anime cast members are returning from a drama CD that shipped with the third manga volume, although Nana Mizuki will replace Risa Taneda as Kisaki Kondō. The cast includes:
Haruka Tomatsu as Hana Miyakoshi, a mysterious high schooler who is already a floor chief. Strong, but not so bright
Kouki Uchiyama as Masahiro Adachi, an honest and upright kitchen staffer. Easily confused.
Yōko Hikasa as Sayuri Muranushi, an art school student with few social graces but with a knack for her work. She can see what cannot be seen
Nana Mizuki as Kisaki Kondō, an aimless college student and Muranushi's childhood friend who doesn't work.
Sora Amamiya as Shiho Kamakura, a rather rich girl who feels a little, mostly, fairly warped mentality. She may have feelings for Shindō.
Kensho Ono as Yūta Shindō, a poor freelancer who is at the family restaurant during the day and at a host club at night.
- Momo Asakura as Miri Yanagiba
- Ari Ozawa as Rui Nagata
- Hiro Shimono as Takuya Kōno
- Yoshimasa Hosoya as Kōki Saiki
- Kousuke Toriumi as Kenichirō Sakaki
Takatsu posted the web manga on her own official website and Square Enix is publishing the series into compiled volumes. The limited edition third volume bundled a drama CD, as will the limited edition fourth and fifth volumes, which will ship on September 24 and December 24, respectively.
Takatsu serialized her Working!! manga in Shonen Gangan from 2005 to 2014, and it already inspired three television anime seasons. Crunchyroll streamed all three series as they aired in Japan, and NISA licensed and released the first two seasons in North America under the title Wagnaria!!. Aniplex of America released the third season.
