Hunter × Hunter Gets New Smartphone Game
posted on by Karen Ressler
This year's 42nd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced on Saturday that Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter X Hunter manga is inspiring a smartphone game from Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game, titled Hunter X Hunter: World Hunt, will be free to play with in-game item purchases. Bandai Namco Entertainment has opened a teaser website.
The game will feature real-time battles between guilds of up to 13 characters that can all fight at the same time. Players will be able to create an avatar and then use a two-choice quiz and Water Divination to determine an original Nen power.
Bandai Namco Entertainment previously released the Hunter X Hunter: Battle AllStars smartphone game in 2014.
The original manga went on indefinite hiatus in July after having just resumed in April after a two year hiatus. The manga inspired two television anime series; the latest one ran from 2011 until 2014. The manga also inspired two anime films and several original video anime titles.
