Toukiden: Mononofu Smartphone Game Revealed

Free-to-play "hunting action" game slated for 2016

Koei Tecmo games opened a website on Monday for a new iOS and Android smartphone game titled Toukiden: Mononofu, part of its Toukiden series. The site labels the game as a free-to-play "hunting action" game. Purchasing in-game items will cost money. The game is slated for release this year.

Koei Tecmo's upcoming Toukiden 2 action game will ship on Thursday, July 28 in Japan for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. Koei Tecmo Games' Omega Force subsidiary (Warriors/Musou series) is developing the game.

Koei Tecmo Games released Toukiden: Kiwami in North America in March 2015 for the PS4 and PS Vita. The game is an enhanced version of the original Toukiden: The Age of Demons game. The game then received a PC release via Steam in June 2015.

Studio 4°C streamed series of tie-in original anime shorts for Toukiden 2 earlier this month.
