King of Fighters XIV Gets Demo With 7 Playable Characters on Tuesday

Atlus USA announced on Sunday that SNK Playmore will make a demo version of its King of Fighters XIV PlayStation 4 fighting game available in the Americas and Europe on Tuesday, and in Asia on Wednesday. The demo will contain seven characters, including Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, Mai Shiranui, Sylvie Paula Paula, King of Dinosaurs, Shun'ei, and Nelson. The demo will have local versus mode available, and will come with a dynamic PS4 theme.
SNK Playmore and Atlus also began streaming a story trailer for the game on Sunday, as well as a video for the game's boss character Antonov.
The two companies also streamed videos for Team South Town (Billy, Hein, and Geese) and the DLC costume "Nightmare Geese" earlier this week.
The company previously streamed videos for: Team Official Invitation, Team Villains, Team Art of Fighting, Team Kim, Team Japan, Team Fatal Fury, Team Yagami, Team South America, and Team Mexico.
SNK Playmore and Atlus USA are partnering to release the game on August 23. The game will ship in Japan on August 25. Those who pre-order the game will receive a limited-edition steel book packaging. Those who pre-order the game will also get the "Classic Kyo" DLC costume.
The game also has a "Burn to Fight" premium edition for US$79.99 that includes a steel book case, a 144-page art book, a three-disc soundtrack, and a collector's box.
The game will feature more than 50 playable fighters, including new characters to the franchise. The full character roster includes: Nakoruru, Shun'ei, Luong, Nelson, Sylvie Paula Paula, Ryo Sakazaki, Vice, Kim Kaphwan, Athena Asamiya, Chin Gentsai, Choi, Tung, Geese, Goro Daimon, Mature, Joe Higashi, Hein, Yuri, Gang-Il, Xanadu, Mian, Zarina, Ramon, Meitenkun, Kensou, Love, Alice, Mai Shiranui, Bandeiras Hattori, Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, Leona Heidern, Chang Koehan, Andy Bogard, Billy Kane, Kula, King, Angel, Ralf, K', Benimaru Nikaido, Robert Garcia, King of Dinosaurs, Maxima, Clark Still, Terry Bogard, Mui Mui, and Kukri.
There will be 16 different teams consisting of three characters each.
Sony stated that while the game visuals will feature 3D graphics, the game keeps the classic 2D gameplay. The game will also feature new multiplayer online modes such as the Party Battle mode. This mode will feature up to six people in an online battle (three players per team).
