Montreal's Fantasia Int'l Film Festival to Screen Pigtails, Momotaro Anime; Terraformars, The Top Secret Live-Action Films

The official website for the 20th annual Fantasia International Film Festival has revealed the festival's lineup. This year's festival will be held from July 14-August 3. The festival is screening the world premiere of Keishi Ōtomo's The Top Secret: Murder in Mind live-action film, which adapts Reiko Shimizu's Himitsu - Top Secret psychological science-fiction manga. The film opens in Japan on August 6.

Other Japanese films include Shunji Iwai's A Bride for Rip Van Winkle, Hideo Sakaki's Kiyamachi Daruma, Eiji Uchida's Lowlife Love, Kankurō Kudō's Too Young to Die!, Yōji Yamada's What a Wonderful Family!, Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Creepy, Akira Nagai's If Cats Disappeared from the World, Yoshihiro Nakamura's The Inerasable, Minoru Kawasaki's Kaijyu Mono.

Last year Keiichi Hara's Miss Hokusai film won the Sequences Award for best Asian feature film, the Satoshi Kon Award for best animated feature film, and the Gold Audience Award for best animated feature film. Shunji Iwai's The Case of Hana & Alice (Hana to Alice Satsujin Jiken) received the Bronze Audience Award for best animated feature film.
